RiverWoods Exeter Awards Scholarships to Outstanding Young Men and Women

RiverWoods Exeter’s Contributions to Higher Education

On the afternoon of June 25, 2019, residents, staff, and family members gathered in Boulders Hall to recognize the 2019 Scholarship Award recipients. Gina Dickenson, RiverWoods Exeter Director of Human Resources, welcomed all and expressed appreciation for the generosity that made the scholarships possible.

The Peabody Scholarship, awarded to children of RiverWoods Exeter Staff, was presented to Alexis Bogart (daughter of Marsha Bogart, Front Desk Receptionist) who is attending University of New Hampshire; Abigail Trainor (daughter of Bill Trainor, Facilities Manager-Woods) who is attending Wentworth Institute of Technology; and Camden Ward (son of Mark Ward, Campus Services Driver) who is attending University of New Hampshire.

The Spencer Memorial Scholarship is for Health Care staff pursuing a degree in Nursing. The recipients were Fay Cheney, Woods LNA, attending Great Bay Community College; Heather Heim, Ridge LNA, attending the University of New Hampshire; and Bridget Prince, Ridge MNA, attending Great Bay Community College. The Peabody & Spencer Scholarships are made possible by contributions made to the RiverWoods Charitable Funds Annual Appeal and other gifts during the year. In addition, the Peabody Scholarship received a generous donation in 2018 from late resident Nancy Weare. RiverWoods is greatly appreciative to all who have donated.

The funds for The Boutique Scholarship are provided by Boutique Sales, and the four recipients this year were: Molly Breslin, Woods Diet Aide, who will be attending Husson University, Lauren Edwards, Ridge Waitstaff, who will be attending University of New England, Kelsey Peirce, Boulders Waitstaff, who will be attending Southern New Hampshire University and Molly Shea, Woods Diet Aide, who will be attending University of Maine.

The final scholarship presented was The Great Bay Community College Scholarship. This partnership between RiverWoods Exeter and Great Bay Community College was established in 2018 by the RiverWoods Exeter Charitable Funds Committee member in the hopes of opening students’ minds about the rich variety of career opportunities available at RiverWoods. The recipients of the Great Bay scholarships are first and second year nursing students Niomi DeRoy, Kurtis Leonard, Hannah VanAuken, and Allison Welch.

This year RiverWoods awarded over $48,000 to scholarship recipients; the community’s most substantial scholarship awards to date. Congratulations to all our recipients!
